2026 Madcaps Benefit Show Theme: MADCAPS: Salute to Service
"Salute to Service" is a fun and meaningful benefit show that allows our girls to say thank you to the everyday heroes in our lives. The show honors members of the military, firefighters, lifeguards, and other first responders through upbeat performances, music, and dance. San Diego is a city with strong ties to the military and public service, but it’s not just about San Diego. It’s a way to show appreciation for people who serve all over the country. From moving tributes to high-energy numbers, “Salute to Service” is all about showing gratitude and celebrating those who dedicate their lives to helping others.

ABOUT MADCAPS AND OUR BENEFIT SHOW
Mission
The purpose of MADCAPS, as a private, nonprofit organization, is to involve mothers and daughters in direct service to and support of established philanthropic organizations. To further this purpose, mothers actively nurture the training of their daughters in philanthropic commitments, teaching personal responsibility, as well as responsibility to the needs of others, so that all members may fully realize the benefits of involvement in the community.
MADCAPS fulfills its mission by receiving generous support from community members like you.
History
MADCAPS was established in 1960, when a group of 27 mothers met to consider forming a mothers’ and daughters’ organization to support local philanthropies. On September 17, 1960, MADCAPS made its debut at a tea for 50 charter members and their daughters. To date, MADCAPS has distributed over $1,060,000 to local charities, and completed thousands of hours of direct community service. For more about the history of Madcaps and our benefit show, see About Madcaps.
Where We Are Now
Our membership has grown to include over 400 mothers and their daughters grades 7th through 12th from Point Loma, Ocean Beach, Hillcrest and Mission Hills. Our group participates in year-round activities and fundraising so that all members may fully realize the benefits of involvement in the community. In recent years, MADCAPS has donated over $100,000 annually to philanthropies and completed over 6,500 direct-service volunteer hours.
